The <br />additional funds are needed to cover costs associated with 1) unanticipated engineering <br />and construction due to unforeseen field conditions, primarily unknown underground gas <br />and oil pipelines in the construction area, and 2) the preparation of a Letter of Map <br />Revision to be submitted to FEMA so that the extent of the floodplain in the surrounding <br />communities can be reduced. These unexpected expenditures have increased the total <br />project cost to $2,669,922. <br /> <br />Detailed breakdowns of the additional costs and an updated Financial Plan for the District <br />were recently submitted to your office in support of this request. <br /> <br />The District would appreciate your favorable response to this request at your meeting <br />later this month.
