e . MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDI:NG CONCERNI:NG RECOVERY PROGRAM FOR ENDANGERED FI:SH SPECI:ES IN THE UPPER COLORADO RIVER BASIN ..-~. FY 90 PROJECT NO. 9 "YAMPA RIVER BASIN FEASIBILITY STUDY" On August 30, ~989, the Recovery Implementation Committee approved the FY 90 budget for the Recovery Implementation Program for Endangered Fish Species in the Upper Colorado River Basin. The "Yampa Basin Feasibility Study" (FY 90 Project No.9) is included in the FY 90 budget in furtherance of the goals of the Program. A description of the Study is included as Attachment ~, and is incorporated into this memorandum. The Study is a joint effort of the Recovery Program, U. S. Bureau of Reclamation (Bureau), Colorado Water Conservation Board (Board), and the Colorado River Water Conservation District (District). This memorandum defines the terms and conditions for conducting the Study jointly agreed to by these parties. 1. Funding. A. The cost of the Study will include $300,000 for a technical services contractor, and additional costs to be incurred by the parties. The Study will be initiated in FY 90 and concluded in FY 91 per Attachment 1. It is anticipated that the costs will be divided evenly between FY 90 and FY 91, and that one half of the funding will be provided in each fiscal year. B. Sources of funding contract are: Recovery Program Conservation Board $100,000; Conservation District - $100,000. for the technical services $100,000; Colorado Water and Colorado River Water c. The Recovery Program funding for the technical services contract will be provided by the Bureau as part of its annual contribution to the Program. This funding will be provided in accordance with a separate agreement between the District and the Bureau. 1 APPENDIX A
