from south of Spruce Street on Washington. It may be feasible to regrade Washington from Spruce Street
south to Rose Street which could improve the drainage to Spruce Street, and include lowering Spruce to
the east to tie into the proposed work from Vine Street to the alley west of Vine, These items can be
pursued further during fmal design, There were no objections to the proposed alignment,

At the January 9, 1997 meeting, the town approved the proposed channel work and the new alignment and
want to pursue State funding for the project through reapplication to the Department of Local Affairs,

COST ESTIMATE

The proposed channel is separated into six reaches as shown in Figure I, with approximate distances and
cost estimates for construction shown in Table 1, The estimate for engineering design and construction
observation fees are included in the table,
