Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act (1974)
— authorizes the construction,
operation, and maintenance of Colorado River works to reduce salinity.
Grand C anyon Protection Act (1992)
— directs the Secretary of the Interior to operate
Glen Canyon Dam to protect Grand Canyon National Park.
Interim Surplus Guidelines (2001)
— specifies criteria under which surplus water can be
declared in the Lower Basin during an interim period that extends through 2016.
California Quantification Settlement Agreement (2003)
— provides the mechanism for
California water users to curb their overall use to 4.4 million acre - feet.
Colorado River Water Delivery Agreement (2003)
— implements the California
Co lorado River user's Quantification Settlement Agreement to curb California's overuse
to 4.4 million acre - feet by 2016 .
Seven Basin States Agreement (2007)
— if adopted by the Secretary of the Interior, will
reduce deliveries of Colorado Riv er water to Arizona and Nevada when storage in Lake
Mead drops below certain set levels and thus will reduce the risk of shortages in
Colorado.
