<br />Water Quality-Water Quantity Coordination Meeting. The quarterly water quality-water quantity . <br />coordination meeting took place at the Colorado Department of Agriculture on January 31. A copy of the <br />meeting summary is attached for your review. 'Uhe next meeting is scheduled for April 25. Th~ meeting <br />will be held in Carson Room at the Colorado De~artment of Health and Environment (Building A, first <br />floor). i ! <br /> <br />] <br />Colorado Watershed Protection Fund (CWPf). In an attempt to encourage Coloradoans to:contribute <br />I I <br />to the CWPF tax checkotTprogram, the Coloradp Watershed Assembly (CW A) developed a strategy <br />utilizing its membership base and National Publ~c Radio as partners to obtain special in-house 'ad agency <br />rates for underwriting Morning Edition and All Things Considered. The CW A negotiated with KCFR and <br />KVOD public radio stations for certain spots within these popular morning and evening news programs <br />for the Denver/Boulder as well as West Slope li~tening market. The CWPF will receive 35 driye-time <br />rotator spots on KCFR between February 5 and March 23. In addition CWPF will receive 50 drive-time <br />I <br />rotator spots between February 5 and April 14 along the West Slope market between Craig and Ouray and <br />between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs[ Lastly, the CW A will publish and mail information to <br />I <br />the membership of all 57 watershed groups in Colorado reaching tens of thousands of targeted watershed <br />I I <br />enthusiasts. <br /> <br />Groundwater Commission Meeting: The Col~rado Groundwater Commission will meet in I)enver on <br />February 16 at the Parker Water and Sanitation District, 18100 E.; Woodman Drive in Parker.: <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />CWC Annual Convention: The Colorado Water Congress 49th Annual Convention was held January 25 <br />I ' <br />_ 26. The Convention was entitled "The Path 1jhat Lies Ahead, " and topics included climate change and <br />water supply planning, endangered species recqvery programs, and statewide water supply initiative <br />reports. . <br /> <br />The CWC's 2007 Summer Convention will be held at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Conference <br />Center in Steamboat Springs, Colorado on Au~st 23 - 24. <br />I <br />Colorado Water Workshop: The Annual Colprado Water Workshop will be held May 22-24 at Western <br />State College in Gunnison. The Workshop will be a watershed-wide look at Colorado River <br />controversies sponsored by Western State COlltge. For more information and/or to register contact Pete <br />Lavigne at Western State College. <br /> <br />Colorado Climate Project of the Rocky Mou~tain Climate Organization: On August 24,.2006 the <br />Rocky Mountain Climate Organization (RMCq) announced the formation of the Colorado C1;imate <br />Project establishing a Climate Action Panel (C~) - a broad-based group of Colorado leader~ who are <br />charged with developing a comprehensive Colorado Climate Change Action Plan. The CAP is charged to <br />develop recommendations for actions that can ~e taken in Colorado to reduce the State's contribution and <br />vulnerability to a change climate. A report with the recommendations of the panel is expecte~ before the <br />end 2007. Recommendations will be forwarde~ to the Governor, the Colorado General Assembly, local <br />governments, and others in Colorado for their consideration. Additional information about ~e CAP can <br />be found at the project website: www.coloradoclimate.org. I <br /> <br />The second meeting of the CAP was held on February 15, 2007 in Boulder, CO.
