The downstream view of the V-structure shows how it is designedto accommodate
varying flow levels.

Low Flow

The lowest flow rate claimed is 120 cfs. Water at this flow rate will be controlled and
diverted throughout the Boating Park and will not be wasted. The low flow rate for which the
Boating Park was designed was based on basic hydraulic formulas coupled with a working
knowledge of this segment ofthe Yampa River and its characteristics. The structures are
hydraulically and structurally sound, with anchors into the bed and banks of the river that were
made of large stone and concrete.

The structures and their elevation/configuration were designed to provide depth for
boating during flows lower than 120 cfs, even when the whitewater wave features are not
present.

-9-
