<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ul~il~33 <br /> <br />Mr. Porzak <br />December 22, 2003 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />study period is representative of the long=1:erm conditions in the Yampa River at <br />Steamboat Springs. <br /> <br />The analysis calculations are based on the daily streamflow values recorded at <br />the Yampa River and Fish Creek gages. All of the streamflow values used in the <br />analysis have been published by the USGS, except for the October 2002 data that is <br />provisional at this time. <br /> <br />We performed calculations on a daily time-step to determine the number of days <br />within the study period when the flow of the Yampa River at the Boating Park equaled <br />or exceeded the recommended flows listed above. In addition, we calculated the <br />number of days when the available flows exceeded the required amounts listed above. <br />The number of exceeded days was determined by comparing the average daily flow at <br />the control structures (YampaRiver Gage plus Fish Creek Gage) with the recommended <br />flows. The number of exceeded days is summarized in Table 1. The calculated surplus <br />volume is summarized in Table 2. <br /> <br />Calculations were also performed on an average basis over the study period and <br /> <br />summarized as follows. <br />
