In this communication you requested additional information
regarding our grant request in the amount of $7,700 to help fund an Environmental
Report and Preliminary Engineering Report.

I trust you will find the GPW A response sufficient to clarify the issues in question.
Please regard this letter as an Addendum to our original grant request.

Issues/Additional Needs:

1. Staff did not receive attachments. Per Rick Brown's subsequent email to me, it was
verified that the attachments had been received from Steve Harris subsequent to
electronic submission of the grant application by Steve Harris on January 11th, 2007.

2. Please describe how this project fits conceptually into the entire process of
constructin,g the pipeline (i.e.., key major steps and challenges). This project is to develop
the Prelimillary Engineering Report and the Environmental Report. ,These reports are
necessary to qualify for fUll ding (grants & loans from the USDA-RD and possibly
other State, Federal and Private funding sources. We anticipate a major portion of the
construction funding will come from USDA-Rural Development. Once these reports
are complete and accepted by RD, GPWA can begin grant applications for construction
of the project. In short, these reports are the second step in the process of extending
Montezuma Water Companies water lines into the Goodman Point area. (The first step
was formation of the non-profit "Goodman Point Water Association" in August of
2006.) As regards the development of the ER and PER we don't anticipate "key major
steps and challenges".
