She will be <br />responsible for coordinating communications efforts with the local <br />and regional media. Ms. Holmes is a nearly thirty-year veteran of <br />the public affairs profession having served in this capacity for a <br />Fortune 50 corporation, international pubic relations firm, <br />national trade association, a non-profit organization and several <br />regional public relations firms throughout a career that spanned <br />from Washington, D.C., to New York City to Dallas and now <br />Denver. A native New Yorker, Ms. Holmes has been a resident <br />of Douglas County since 1994. She has a deep-rooted passion <br />for public policy especially for those efforts that engage citizens <br />in building and sustaining community. Wendy began what she <br />refers to as her "joyful leap" into public service in 2003 when <br />she became an employee of Douglas County serving as the <br />Cultural Affairs Coordinator. She has served as the County's - <br />Public Affairs director since January of 2005. She serves on the <br />Board of the Women's Crisis and Family Outreach Center, is on <br />the Citizen's Advisory Board of The Wildlife Experience, is a <br />Bighorn Institute for Public Policy Fellow, an alumnus of <br />Leadership Denver and Leadership Texas. A resident of <br />Parker, she and her husband James are parenting two <br />daughters. <br /> <br />(~~ <br /> <br />Xeriscaping DVD Effectiveness Evaluation - The evaluation <br />manager will be Don Glaser, Executive Director of the Colorado <br />Foundation for Water Education. He has recent and direcUy related <br />experience in evaluating the effectiveness of grant projects meeting <br />stated program objectives. He was the Director of Grant Evaluations <br />for the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. In this capacity, he <br />established a program to determine the effectiveness of NFWF <br />grants in achieving the stated program objectives of the <br />organization. The evaluation program addressed $220 million in <br />grants representing over $600 million in project activity including <br />matching funds. Don will converse with the applicant and ewCB in <br />creation of the survey process, then work independently to produce <br />objective data. <br /> <br />Target Audience <br /> <br />The target audience for this proposed project is the households in <br />single family detached residences in all of Douglas County and <br />selected portions of Arapahoe County - totaling nearly 100,000 <br />separate households. <br /> <br />(. <br />
