Railroad Ave. <br />Fort Morgan, Colorado 80701 <br />303-867-5298 <br /> <br />February 17, 1995 <br /> <br />Mr. Bill Green <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />1313 Sherman Street, Suite 721 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />RE: Request For $5000 Grant From Small Dam Site <br />Reconnaissance Study <br /> <br />Dear Bill: <br /> <br />Two water management organizations on the South Platte River have <br />agreed to jointly explore opportunities for construction and <br />operation of facilities aimed at full utilization of River flows. <br />Groundwater Appropriators of the South Platte (GASP) and the <br />Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (NCWCD) have developed <br />a Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), a copy of which is enclosed, <br />which could lead to design and construction of appropriate <br />multiple-purpose water resource management and storage facilities. <br /> <br />In pursuit of that objective, GASP and NCWCD are soliciting the <br />participation of the CWCB in a reconnaissance study and feasibility <br />study to develop the concept by way of $5000 grant from SDSR Fund. <br />A cost estimate to provide these studies is also enclosed. GASP and <br />NCWCD are prepared to advance matching funds of $5000 to allow the <br />reconnaissance study to proceed.
