CDM Camp Dresser & McKee lnc.

T; Crumpton (9/5/95)
Page Number 8

Highway Administration).

Wetlands/Riparian Delineation - Wetland delineation, of areas previously inaccessible due to
high water in Plateau Creek, has been completed. The wetland areas have been flagged and
mapping operations are underway. The high spring runoff resulted in relocation of several
wetland areas due to stream channel changes. Surveying and mapping should be completed
within the coming month.

Neotropical Migratory Bird Habitat - As with the wetland delineation effort, some areas of
potential neotropical migratory bird habitat were inaccessible due to high water. The habitat
investigation in these areas was completed and the resources were flagged and described.
Mapping of bird habitat based on biologists field work is underway and should be completed
within the next month.

Biological Assessment (BA) Field Investigations - Field surveys were completed for the Uinta
Basin hookless cactus, Wetherill milkvetch and Natarita milkvetch. These surveys were
necessary for the BA and involved inspection of the dry, upland portions of the alignment
which have not been previously investigated. Previously identified populations of the cactus
were confirmed in the vicinity of Jerry Creek Reservoirs, but no more populations or
individuals of populations of these species were observed along the existing alignment. In the
future, it may be necessary to examine applicable sections of the preferred alignment if it is
located more than 50-feet from the existing alignment.

Cultural Investigations - The Class I Cultural Inventory was completed and submitted to the
BLM for review. The study identified three cultural sites and one potential paleontological
site in the vicinity of the existing pipeline alignment. These resources may require some
minor adjustments to the preferred alignment and monitoring during construction.

Out of Scope Work

So that the District can be informed of out-of-scope items to be included in the remaining
Phase I upper limit, this report will identify every month any such work that has come up,
together with a cumulative total for all such out-of-scope work.

Month Item est cost act cost cum cost
Feb 95 NOI - Mailing List $2,500 $ 441 $441
Apr 95 WTP - SDWA $ 500 $941
May 95 Tunnel Condo Assess $2,060 $ 746 $1,687
May 95 Coal Seam Subsidence $2,200 $1,551 $3,238
June 95 Coal Seam Subsidence $1,622 $4,860
July 95 Flycatcher Survey $10,000 $3,861 $8,721
