~ t- "'"
)

;

Future Consideration

The following items were listed by the Denver Office as re~Jiring
more in-depth geotechnical investigation if further detailed
studies are undertaken:

1. How much wasting of the surficial materials will there be
into the reservoir because of changed geohydrologic and surface
water conditions.

2. Change of rock strength when saturated because of reservoir
(especially upper or weathered portion of rock and overburden).

3. Geotechnical properties of bedrock-weathered, hardness,
discontinuities, permeability, and characterization of any rock
defects.

4. Phreatic surface in foundation of dam. Relation of
weathering and mass wasting to present water surface.

5. Are dispersive soils present in the potential borrow areas?

6. Effects of ground motions on dam and reservoir area.

7. Potential faults near dam and reservoir area.

13
