It now appears that rather than rehabilitating the dam, spillway and outlet <br />works, the reservoir will be enlarged to provide water for maintaining late summer <br />flows necessary for the recovery of the endangered fish. <br /> <br />This enlargement of Elkhead will be undertaken by the Colorado River Water <br />Conservation District in cooperation with the Recovery Implementation Program. It <br />may be necessary at some future date to investigate CWCB financial assistance for the <br />enlargement.
