The CWCB has been actively involved, off and on, over the last ten years in both the planning
effort as well as providing financial assistance to the City for Phases I and II of the process. Toe
date, the Board's financial participation has amounted to about $60,000. The Phase I and Phase
II analyses were conducted by the finn of Camp Dresser & Mckee.

Since the completion of the Phase IT work in 1988, the City has taken steps to implement the
study recommendations with respect to the acquisition of water rights and water conservation.
The City has delayed until now a decision on additional raw water storage. .

In December 1996, the Loveland Water Board' and City Staff made the decision to recommend
an expansion of Green Ridge Glade Reservoir from its existing capacity of 600 acre-feet to 6,000
acre-feet. That recommendation will be presented to the Loveland City Council during the next
two months.

PROJECT SPONSOR

Table 1 gives some selected characteristics for Loveland and for the City's water system. The
City's 1990 median household income is essentially identical to the state-wide median household
income of $30, 140.

The City's sources of water supply are:

10,404 units of Colorado-Big Thompson (C-BT) Project water,

40.units ofWmdy Gap Project water,

The City's direct flow diversion rights on the Big Thompson River for up to 12.44 cfs
when in priority,

Water derived from the City's ownership of shares in ditch companies which divert from
the Big Thompson River.

Some current financial indicators for the Loveland Water Fund are given in Table 2 based on
infonnation supplied by the City for the years 1993 through 1995.
