Please see the attached project summary, map, and schematic diagram.

Back!!round
The City of Loveland began a comprehensive water supply planning process in the mid- .
1980's in association with the CWCB. The process involved a three-phase analysis over a
period of more than ten years:

Phase I - An assessment of drought impacts on the City's water supply system and a
recommendation for a drought protection level for design of facilities -completed in
August 1986.

Phase II - Development and evaluation of alternatives over a 30-year planning
horizon to provide raw water capacity adequate for the 100-year drought based on the
results of Phase I - completed in January 1988.

Phase III - A detailed feasibility study for a selected raw water storage alternative -
completed in October 1997.

The CWCB has been actively involved in both the planning effort as well as providing
financial assistance to the City for Phases I and II of the process. To date, the Board's
financial participation has amounted to about $60,000. The Phase I and Phase II analyses
were conducted by the firm of Camp Dresser & Mckee and the Phase III detailed feasibility
study was done by Woodward-Clyde.

Roy Romer.
Governor

James S.
