Consequently, estimates of
pumping and pumping depletions were not updated to reflect changes in membership after
that time. The reader is frequently referred to this earlier report.

LAWMA's X-V AND MANVEL WATER RIGHTS

General

This report section provides additional information concerning the historical use of the
X-V and Manvel water rights that LAWMA is expecting to acquire in 1996. It also estimates
the yields of these interests under the hydrologic conditions of 1 990-94 and proposes a
procedure for determining the water that will be available to them in the future.

The X-V Ranch

The X-V Ranch and its associated water rights were discussed in the July 1995 report.
That discussion included historical diversions, irrigation efficiencies, and consumptive use
during the post-compact period of 1950-94. As shown in Plate 2 in the July 1995 report, the
ditch diverts from the south bank of the Arkansas River about 18 miles east of Lamar. The
water rights that were associated with the X-V Ranch consisted of 66.0 of 69.0 cfs decreed
to the X-V Irrigating Ditch and those for a number of wells on the ranch. The area historically
irrigated on the X-V Ranch in 1985 was estimated at 3,026 acres.

2
