A pump station located just southeast of the La Chaumiere restaurantpumps water from the mid-zone to high zone storage consisting of a 100,000 gallon ground level storage tank: adjacent to a 500,000 gallon ground level tank locat- ed on Elk Rd. approximately 0.1 mile south of Deer Lane. The total current treated water storage in the system is 1,220,000 gallons. 3) Well Supplies On the east bank of the River, just north of Kiowa Rd. is a well which delivers water to a small treatment facility where it is filtered, treated for pH control, and disinfected with a hypochIorination system before being injected into the low zone distribution system at that point. Its capacity has varied, with it gen- erally being several gallons per minute. .; Just north of the high zone tanks is a series of small wells and a spring, and their combined output is manifolded into a transmission system whIch delivers the total flow to a small treatment facility adjacent to the 100,000 gallon high zone tank where it is filtered, treated for pH control, and disinfected with a hy- pochlorination system before being introduced into the 500,000 gallon high zone tank. The combined capacity of this manifolded supply has . generally been several gallons per minute, also. Acknowledging the relatively small contribution which the wells make to the overall system supply, the District Board recently voted to stop using all of the . above mentioned well systems at this time in view'o~the anticipated costs of testing and treatment required under new regulatory standards. 4) Regulatory Compliance The Pinewood Springs Water District has complied with the Safe Drinking Wa- ter Act, and responds positively to recommendations made by the Colorado De- partment of Public Health and Environment as a result of the Department's periodic inspection of the District's systems.
