When completed, the portion of the project owned by the <br />Subdistrict will hold approximately 1600 acre-feet of water for augmentation purposes. <br />In 1999 a bentonite slurry wall liner was installed around the Koenig Reservoir, <br />northwest of Fort Lupton. It is also a reservoir created from a mined gravel pit. Its <br />capacity, when mining is completed, will be approximately 1,100 acre-feet. In2001, a <br />bentonite slurry wall liner was installed around a third gravel pit, on the west side of <br />Greeley along the Cache la Poudre River. It will store approximately 300 acre-feet after <br />gravel mining is finished. These entities have the power to acquire and sell water rights, construct and <br />operate facilities, exercise eminent domain, levy taxes, and contract with other agencies, <br />including the CWCB. Water conservancy districts are subject to the provisions of <br />TABOR. <br /> <br />3 <br />
