ARAPAHOE COUNTY WATER AND WASTEWATER AUTHORITY

7.2 PROJECT-SPECIFIC SAVINGS AND SUPPLY-CAPACITY FORECASTS

As discussed in Section 1.6.7 ACWW A is planning a considerable amount of water conservation
efforts in conjunction with the JWPPWTP and the expansion of the non-potable water system
that were not accounted for in W orl(sheet 7-1 as a credit in water savings. ACWW A performed
its own evaluation of water conservation measures as part of the master planning that ultimately
lead to the selection of a plan to create the JWPPWTP and to expand the non-potable water
system. These projects were found to be the best alternative to efficiently use and conserve the
Authority's water supply.

The Authority plans to implement the selected conservation measures from Section 6, however
the water savings are not significant enough to warrant a revision in planned capital projects or
supply-capacity forecasts. The success of water conservation measures and programs can be
highly variable and to over-estimate savings can lead to inadequate planning for water supply
infrastructure. Because of this, Worl(sheet 7-2 of the Water Conservation Plan Development
Guidance Document has been omitted.

To reduce the forecasts and the planned supply capacity any further would compromise the
Authority's ability to provide potable water and therefore would not be in the public's interest

7.3 REVENUE EFFECTS

The selected water conservation measures are not anticipated to greatly impact ACWW A's
revenues since the water demand will not be significantly reduced, as indicated in Worl(sheet 7-3
(Appendix A).

Richard P.
