To some, the section through <br />Midway is actually the more stable section of river. Since the flood of 1993, the Midway section <br />of river has spawned tens of thousands of cottonwood trees. The baby trees are bound and <br />determined to keep a beautiful riparian environment alive on the North Fork. In the section of <br />River adjacent to Heddles bridge, there is hardly any young Cottonwood trees, <br />To cottonwood trees flooding is not a nuisance, but a necessity to begin life. To many of the <br />native species of plants and animals, a flood plane that contains an unpredictable river is not a <br />bad thing. It ensures that they, and there children will have a place that will not be developed by <br />that generation of people, or the next, or the next, or the next. <br />
