<br />The Colura@ Water Conservation Board will playa major role in the planning and <br />remediation of enhanced riparian and wetland areas along the North Fork. CWCB <br />currently is represented on the technical advisory committee and is encouraging <br />NFRL~.J_~ aP.RlyJQDt~ing..B!ant to match this proposal. <- <br />Dr. David Cooper and Dr ~ W ohl~e-E;rthScrencesdept at CSU will review <br />all previous studies on the North Fork prior to conducting their research to ensure that <br />no work is duplicated. <br />NFRIA will continue to work closely with the Three Rivers Land Trust to educate <br />and encourage conservation easements in riparian areas for long-term protection. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />5.0 Evaluation and Monitoring <br /> <br />The project will be monitored and evaluated for success depending on the individual <br />criteria for each objective. <br /> <br />Community Outreach and Education - /07D /M'?1. U&r SIt//.) <br />Success is generally measured by the increase in memberships and attendance at <br />community meetings and events, There are currently 117 dues paying members in this <br />watershed group. Community involvement is constantly increasing, however, <br />quantitatively we expect to see a minimum 10% increase in membership. ~ <br /> <br />Monitoring and Evaluation -.DJ fi.I- 0.:> ..sffP <br />The monitoring of existing cross sections along the river and proposed sections within the <br />current demonstration project will substantially improve the morphological database in <br />the watershed. Success will be measured by the addition of annual data for the year 2000 <br />~d 2001 and its documentation in a report and posted on the website. <br /> <br />Paonia Reservoir Research tZr.A7e:r <br />Success will be measured by the acceptance of a final report by NFRIA's technical <br />advisory committee. The report will be complete with detailed sediment data above and <br />below the dam with historical interpretations of sediment loading, previous wetlands, and <br />riparian cottonwood generation along with recommendations for downstream restoration <br />efforts. <br /> <br />Demonstration Proiect pi /1-l.f J <br />Completed construction plans for a new demonstration project will be reviewed by <br />NFRIA's technical advisory committee. Revisions to the plans based upon comments <br />from the committee will be made and success will be determined by a favorable approval <br />of the plans by the committee, <br />
