The Dolores Water Conservancy District (DWCD) was formed under the Water Conservancy <br />District laws of the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />4. The District bylaws are available upon request. <br /> <br />5. The DWCD operates, maintains, and is responsible for repayment of the debt to the Federal <br />Government for the Dolores Project, constructed by the Bureau of Reclamation. McPhee <br />Reservoir is the central facility of the Dolores Project which provides water to: (1) full <br />service non-Indian irrigators northwest of McPhee Reservoir; (2) supplemental water to the <br />irrigators in the Montezuma Valley Irrigation Company; (3) full service irrigation water to <br />the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribe; (4) municipal and industrial water to the towns and cities <br />in the project area; and (5) a cold water fishery below McPhee Dam in the Dolores River. <br />There are numerous documents and maps describing the Dolores Project which are available <br />upon request. <br /> <br />6. The project serves approximately 28,000 acres of full service lITIgation, approximately <br />35,000 acres of supplemental service irrigation, 7,500 acres of Ute Mountain Ute Indian <br />irrigation, and about 10,000 people in the project area. <br /> <br />Part B. - Description of the Project <br />1. WET PACK (Water for Everyone Tomorrow PACKage) <br /> <br />2. The purpose of the feasibility study loan application is to investigate development of: (1) <br />additional water supplies through new and existing storage facilities and other water sources <br />to increase the irrigated lands and to increase the amount of water for the fishery below <br />McPhee Dam; and (2) additional delivery facilities for irrigation and municipal water in or <br />near the project area. <br /> <br />3. The project is NOT for rehabilitation of an existing reservoir. <br />
