Stormwllter Criteria 1\11101181: The Manual was developed in harmony with the <br />revised floodplain rules that were promulgated in Dccember 2005. The Manual provides extensive technical <br />guidance and best management practices for floodplain and drainage topics. <br /> <br />South Platte IUHf 0&1\1: The eWeB owns right-of-way lands along a 6-milc reach of the South Illanc <br />River below Chatfield Reservoir. Regular maintenance activities arc perfonned in partnership with the <br />Urhan Drainage & Flood Control District, and slaffworks with applicants for various casement requests <br />that are presented to the Board for consideration and approval. <br /> <br />Multi-Objective l)h,"lIin~ Studies: The cwcn continues to provide tcchnical assistance and funding for <br />several watershed restoration efforts throughout Colorado. The latest additions to the list of completed and <br />on.going projects include a planning scope of work for the upper Colorado River basin as well as a Ilood <br />mitigation/ecological enhancement study at I{ecla Junction in the Arkansas River basin. <br /> <br />Professiollllll.endership Roles: CWeB staff members continue to play major roles in several important <br />professional organizations and committees having both statewide and national significance. Colorado is <br />seen as a top leader in the Ooodplain management industry not only within FEMA Region 8, but also within <br />the nation as a whole. Colorado boasts the second largest State Chapter for floodplain professionals, ami has <br />a leadership position within a nationally recognized weather modification council ofwestem states. <br /> <br />Avernor's Flood Tusk Force (I.'TI<): The CWCll chairs the FTF and hosts a large panel of experts from <br />.eral. state, loe;11, and private interests. The FTF assists in forecasting, preparation, and recovery efforts <br />related to snowmelt and other flooding. The FTF typically meets during the spring and summer months to <br />share and disseminate valuable Oood.related inform.ltion to local officials and to lhe public. <br /> <br />Flood n.esponse "ro~ram: The CWCB provides Iloed outlooks. post.Oood documentation and aerial <br />mapping, post.nood evaluation of regulatory mapping, and meteorological services.
