Craig Hughes, of RBI Strategies, which conducted the poll, said respondents were then weighted to
reflect the state's demographics.

The end result showed that Ritter dominated Beauprez on a wide variety of issues. The survey reflected
accurately Ritter's 15-point victory over Beauprez at the polls.

According to the results:
o The only issue on which Beauprez clearly beat Ritter was on combating illegal immigration. The .
results show that voters across the state who thought immigration was the state's top issue,
favored Beauprez by a 40-point margin.
o Immigration was either the No. 1 or No.2 issue among every demographic the survey profiled:
unaffiliated voters, sportsmen and Western Slope voters.
o The poll showed that sportsmen across the state split 52 percent to 37 percent in favor of Ritter.
Only hunters themselves showed a preference for Beauprez over Ritter, favoring the outgoing
Congressman by an eight-point margin. Fishermen favored Ritter by an eight-point margin.

ughes admitted that while conservation issues did resonate across the state in the top-ticket elections,
rther more colloquial factors might have caused voters to sidestep these issues further down ticket.

8B06-193 Underground Water Storage Study Update: The objective of this study is to identify and
berform an evaluation of potential underground water storage sites within the South Platte and Arkansas
River Basins, taking into account technical, economic and ecological considerations. The study is being
berformed by CDM, under the supervision of the CWCB, and in coordination with the Colorado
Geological Survey.

~e scope of work for the study includes three main tasks: 1) Data Compilation and Site Characterization;
~) Site Evaluation; and 3) Reporting. Currently, sites are being evaluated in the second task, and work has
pegun on the reporting. During the course of the study, numerous previous studies and related data have
been collected and reviewed, and experts within both the South Platte and Arkansas Basins have been
fontacted regarding their experience and ideas concerning potential sites for underground storage in their
respective basins. The project team has also met with and solicited input from the groundwater
~ommittees for the three mcc Roundtables affected by the study: South Platte, Metro, and Arkansas.

he remaining analysis and documentation will be completed in the next two months, with a draft report .
I ompleted in the next month.
