<br />created in the state treasury the flood response fund, referred to in this <br /> <br />2 section as the "response fund". The state treasurer is hereby authorized <br /> <br />3 and directed to transfer Ohe llUuJu;;J Gfly THREE HUNDRED thousand <br />4 dollars from the Colorado water conservation board construction fund to <br /> <br />5 the response fund. The Culul aJu w at~l l,Ull;)~l v at~ull board is authorized <br /> <br />6 to provide funding for flood preparedness and for response and recovery <br /> <br />7 activities following flood events and disasters. The moneys in the <br /> <br />8 response fund are hereby continuously appropriated to the board for flood <br /> <br />9 response purposes, including, but not limited to, the immediate <br /> <br />10 availability of funds for aerial photography of flooded areas, flood <br /> <br />11 documentation and identification of specific hazards, evaluations and <br />12 revisions of floodplain designations, flood forecasting and preparation, <br />13 and development of disaster and recovery mitigation plans. All interest <br /> <br />14 <br />15 <br /> <br />derived from the investment of moneys in the response fund shall be <br /> <br /> <br />credited to the Colorado water conservation board construction fund. <br /> <br />16 Any balance remaining in the response fund at the end of any fiscal year <br />17 shall remain in the fund. <br /> <br />18 SECTION 24. Restoration of flood response fund balance. <br /> <br />19 The state treasurer shall transfer a total of three hundred thousand dollars <br /> <br />20 ($300,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, from the unreserved <br /> <br />21 cash in the Colorado water conservation board construction fund to the <br /> <br />22 flood response fund created in section 37-60-123.2, Colorado Revised <br /> <br />23 Statutes, in order to restore the unencumbered balance in the flood <br /> <br />24 response fund to three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000). <br /> <br />25 <br /> <br />SECTION 25. Section 1 of chapter 224, Session Laws of <br /> <br />26 Colorado 2005, is amended to read: <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />Section 1.
