1 appropriated, to the Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year
2 beginning July 1, 2007, the sum of one hundred fifty thousand dollars
3 ($150,000), or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the board to
4 implement tasks and achieve goals identified in its office of water
5 conservation and drought planning drought and water supply assessment
6 study, including the statutory mission of promoting drought mitigation
7 planning by providing technical assistance to Colorado's water providers

8 as they develop drought mitigation plans.
9 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) of this section shall

10 remain available for the designated purposes until the project is

11 completed.
12 SECTION 14. Colorado water needs and alternatives analysis
13 - appropriation. (1) In addition to any other appropriation, there is

hereby appropriated, out of any moneys in the Colorado water
conservation board construction fund not otherwise appropriated, to the

16 Colorado water conservation board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
17 2007, the sum of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000), or so much

18 thereof as may be necessary, for the board to evaluate projects and water

19 activities statewide that would help address the water supply gap between
20 proposed water projects and the total amount of water needed to meet
21 Colorado's future water demands and needs and that will foster

22 cooperation among water suppliers and citizens in every water basin to

23 examine and implement options to fill the gap between ongoing water

24 planning and future water needs.
25 (2) The moneys appropriated in subsection (1) ofthis section shall
26 remain available for the designated purposes until the project is

27

completed.
