Douglas County also recognizes the need to communicate with
newspapers all over the state regarding Douglas County's effort to
instill water conservation behavior in its citizens.

Action Items:
. Create a launch packet and schedule of story ideas for routine placement
. Pursue creation of Xeriscape column in Colorado Community Newspapers
. Identify and Media Train Spokesperson
. This effort will be begun after January 24th, and completed by early March.

. Douglas County School District: Douglas County would solicit the County
School District to screen this DVD for every student in Douglas County. In
addition to the screening, the County would work with the District's Science
Curriculum Council to create a lesson plan. An annual Xeriscape Day would
be initiated in the schools every year.
