Approximately half of Colorado's satellite-linked gaging stations are located in the
rivers and streams of the state. The others are located in reservoirs, ditches, and canals. The electronic
equipment is attached to mechanical equipment in and along the stream channel, and electronically relays
the data sensed by the mechanical measuring devices. If the mechanical equipment and associated
stream gage structures are not properly maintained and periodically refurbished, the quality of the data
diminishes.

.

In FY07, refurbishment projects have been identified at the following sites (sites and amounts may change
due to circumstances):

So Platte at Julesburq (Channel 4) $3,200.00
So Platte at Julesbura (Channel 1) $1,000.00
Arkansas River at Granite $1,300.00
Purgatoire River at Trinidad $500.00
Lake Creek above Twin Lakes $3.000.00
Rule Creek near Toonerville $550.00
North Channel Coneios R. near LaSauses $500.00
IN.
