The purpose of the study is to develop an improved understanding of return flow to
the tributary system through irrigation percolation, particularly as it pertains to well augmentation
requirements. The proposed study will use bromide tracing and water-level monitoring to improve
estimates of recharge beneath irrigated fields at three farmland test sites in the CCWCD. Sites will
be selected to represent three different irrigation methods (sprinkler, flood and drip irrigation) so that
recharge comparisons can be made among the different methods. The total project cost includes
$200,000 for study costs and $108,000 (normal contract lease value) of lands to be committed to the
study by members of the CCWCD Well Augmentation Subdistrict.

t:Iarns...., II e

".

WELD

: 25

-"

'I.. 4

FT,
MORGM
M:lrg:an
Commur
CoII.~.

FORT MORGilN
MUSEUM

.
