The largest demand
in lhe basin is in Gunnison County where additional
storage and well augmentation will be needed 10 meet
future demands.

Flow recommendations to benefit endangered fish have
been developed for the Gunnison River, however, it is
emphasized Ihat flow recommendations are not
monolithic absolute values, and they may be revised
from time to time 10 include the results of research. Flow
recommendations may nol inhibit the development of
ColOrado's Compact entitlements. The objectives of the
flow recommendations are 10 creale and maintain the
variety of habitats used by all life slages of the four
endangered fishes.

Numerous instream flow and naluralla~e rights have
been appropriated on tributaries to the Gunnison River. A
listing of these rights is available from the CWCS at
hllp:/Icwcb.state .co, uslStreamandlakelDatabase/.

~

,-".

l>ec-''''__M''---

Figure 2-3, Summary of Gap AnalysIs 'ex the GunnIson Bnln.

2-8
