Throughout the year the IBCe
brainstormed topics and issues it would like to aqdress.
These topics and issues were compiled into an "IBCC

CONI

1-12

Agenda Planning" document, provided in Appendix K.
The IBCC has expressed an interest in:

. Engaging in a mission statement and strategic
planning exercise to further define the roles identified
in the Charter. The facilitation team is working with
the Office of Interbasin Compact Negotiations to
develop a proposal for IBCC work on strategic
planning in early 2007.

. Identifying and meeting educational needs to fulfill
their mission and roles.

. Continuing to hear presentations on the major issues
in each basin from the Basin Roundtable hosting the
IBCC meeting.

. Reviewing and discussing the information coming out
of SWSI Phase II.

. Continuing to support the Basin Roundtables in the
development of their needs assessments.

. Furthering their public education, participation, and
outreach responsibilities.

. Monitoring the Water Supply Reserve Account and
assisting Basin Roundtables in implementing
identified solutions to their water problems.

1.9.2 Basin Roundtables

Each Basin Roundtable is progressing at its own
appropriate pace and addressing the issues they deem
most pressing. However, all Basin Roundtables will
predominately spend their time in the upcoming year on
three issues with varying emphasis from Basin
Roundtable to Basin Roundtable. These anticipated
activities for 2007 include:

1. Continued Basin Roundtable education, including
educational presentations on issues of concern within
the basin, future water uses, and issues that impact
neighboring basins or Colorado as a whole;

2. Work on their basin-wide water needs assessments,
including drafting requests for assistance from the
technical assistance contractor selected by the IBCC
to fill gaps in available information; and

3. Examining proposed solutions to their identified water
challenges, and making use of the funds allocated
under SB 06-179 to begin addressing their identified
water needs.

S:\IBC SUPPORTlREPORT TO LEGISLATURElSECTION 1 FINALDOC
