<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Objectives <br /> <br />Objectives are developed to identify the key issues that the Board and its staff must strive <br />to accomplish to achieve the Fundamental Goals of the organization. The objectives are <br />classified into three key categories: Policy Development, Policy Implementation, and <br />Program Performance and Management. The objectives can also be defmed in terms of <br />long-term objectives and short-term objectives for each of these categories. The long- <br />term objectives for each category are provided below, whereas the short-term objectives <br />(those that may change from year to year) are provided in Section B. <br /> <br />Policy Development <br /> <br />The Board and Board Staff will identify and analyze issues for policy recommendations <br />to the Board for consideration and adoption. <br /> <br />The Board will develop, review, and where appropriate, pass resolutions to plan and <br />implement strategies, projects and programs required to achieve the CWCB's mission <br />and implement its statutory authorities. <br /> <br />The Board will support outreach, education and other programs that promote a better <br />understanding of water issues so Colorado's citizens and other government entities will <br />understand water as a limited resource and will make informed decisions related to its <br />conservation, development, protection and management. <br /> <br />The Board and the Board Staff will identify and analyze and respond to the need for <br />statutory changes to ensure the effective implementation of this plan and the Board's <br />mission. <br /> <br />Policy Implementation <br /> <br />The Board and its staff will: <br /> <br />· Continue to support the statutory requirements which mandate CWCB <br />involvement in projects and programs and interstate compacts <br />· Recommend statutory changes to ensure the effective implementation of this <br />plan and the Board's mission <br />Provide regulatory stability and support to water users and others <br />Respond to requests for technical support from customers <br />Provide water planning tools <br />Support State legislative and administrative requests <br />Support existing and future water supply infrastructure project fmancing and <br />construction <br />Reduce the risk of Colorado's citizens from weather related hazards, <br />specifically flood and drought <br />Provide conservation and drought and other general water related information <br /> <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
