This project will contribute necessary information regarding water
conservation to the Lyons residents. The Town also recognizes that educating the children on the
value of their natural resources will lead to wiser and more aware adults.

This is a valuable project because it allows the Town and School to work together and
support one another in conserving a valuable and costly resource, which many people take for
granted. This project is very timely, in that people are aware of the Improvements needed at the
Treatment plant in Town and are wondering what they can do to keep their utility costs down. This
is a cost effective and eye pleasing way to give the public hands on information. The Town has
offered the use of it's backhoe, and manpower to help prepare the site. On November 18, 1996 the
Town Board voted unanimously to support this project as detailed in the application.

Sincerely,

4 tlMu=<J

Terry Andrews
Interim Town Administrator
