<br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br />Town plans to have presales on water taps for the new irrigation <br /> <br />system, The Town will set up the irrigation system under an <br /> <br />enterprise fund. The irrigation system will not be supported by <br /> <br />property taxes, it will be a subsection of the water department <br />which is completely supported by user fees. <br /> <br />In Phase II the Town did utilize a Soil Conservation engineer to <br /> <br /> <br />help ....' design and plan the entire irrigation system. The <br /> <br />installation was done according to the plans and specifications <br /> <br /> <br />of the engineer and pipe supply company consultant with whom the <br /> <br />Town contracts. Nucla is using its own work force to install <br /> <br />Phase II of the system. Nucla's public works director is the <br /> <br /> <br />administrator of the project and direct supervisor. The Office <br /> <br /> <br />of Soil Conservation, Norwood Branch, is assisting in the <br /> <br /> <br />supervision of the project. <br /> <br />The variety of sources of funding for this effort indicate the <br />strong commitment to this project by the local community and the <br />State of Colorado. The reservoir rehabilitation was funded by <br />the Colorado Division of Wildlife ($67,000.00), the Department of <br />Local Affairs ($110,00.00), Montrose County ($2,981.00 in-kind <br />services), Local Contributions ($5,723.00), and the Town <br />($17,382.00). <br /> <br />One inch raw water irrigation tap fees for the first phase of the~ <br /> <br />project are $300.00 per property.
