The District has a 1988 Construction Fund authorization of $8.0 million for <br />the project. <br /> <br />At the May 11-12, 1998 Board meeting, the District hosted a tour of the proposed pipeline route, <br />Also for the May Board meeting, CWCB staff prepared a memo describing the project in some <br />detail (May Agenda Item No. 8.a->. This memo incorporates portions of the May memo and <br />provides an update. Attached are a map of the project area and an updated project summary. <br /> <br />. Backeround <br /> <br />The District service area encompasses about 240 square miles in the Grand Junction <br />metropolitan area with the exception of about seven square miles served by the City of Grand <br />Junction and several smaller communities. Table I gives some selected characteristics of the <br />District. <br /> <br />Table 1.
