Please see the attached <br />project summary and map and the letter from Elmer Gustafson, the President of the <br />Company. <br /> <br />Backl!:round <br /> <br />The WRCC has an authorization of $500,000 in HB 95-1155 for a program of canal and <br />dam rehabilitation. In 1996, the Board recommended an increase in the authorization to a <br />total amount of $1,202,000, which was subsequently authorized by the legislature in SB <br />96-153. <br /> <br />A feasibility study by Smith Geotechnical of Fort Collins was submitted in September <br />1995. Smith Geotechnical also prepared a feasibility study update to support the present <br />funding request. <br /> <br />The 1995 feasibility study described six projects with a total estimated cost of about $3.4 <br />million. The $1.2 million loan authorization was for funding two of those projects that the <br />Company wished to undenake at that time. The remaining projects were to be staged oyer <br />a period of several years. <br />
