The
diversion was repaired in the 1950's and 1960's,

During the week of February 18, 2002, the Company had a local contractor de-water the area
around the river diversion so that it could be inspected. They found that the shale foundation
downstream had been eroded away, and that the erosion extended under the concrete foundation
of the diversion, creating an emergency condition, The UPSCC needs to rehabilitate the diversion
as soon as possible~ prior to spring runoff that could further undercut the structure and cause it to
collapse, The Company notified CWCB staff immediately, and made application for an emergency
loall. The UPBCC is eligible for a loan from the CWCS Emergency Infrastructure Repair Account.
