Macy, Mayor <br />City of Idaho Springs <br />PO Box 907 <br />Idaho Springs, CO 80452 <br />ce, an <br /> <br />RE: Rehabilitation of Chicago Creek Dam <br />and the Raw Water Intake Structure <br />Initial Loan Recommendations <br /> <br />Dear Mayor Macy, <br /> <br />Concerning your application for loans from the Construction Fund, I am pleased to inform you <br />that the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) has made an initial decision to recommend <br />your request for $1.5 million to the General Assembly for consideration in the annual <br />Construction Fund Bill. It is our understanding that these funds will be used to rehabilitate the <br />City's raw water intake structure; and the Chicago Creek dam. The CWCB recommended a loan <br />term of 30 years at an interest rate of 5.25%. <br /> <br />Concerning your application for an Emergency Loan, the CWCB has given initial approval to <br />your request for $130,000 at an interest rate of 4.75% for a 2 year term. It is our understanding <br />that these funds will be used to make emergency repairs to the City's raw water intake structure, <br />and to the Chicago Creek dam. <br /> <br />I have attached a copy of the updated Board memo concerning the City ofldaho Springs. Please <br />refer to page 4 of that memo and to the section "Action Taken by the CWCB, November 7,1995". <br /> <br />The Board has made their initial recommendation subject to several conditions: <br /> <br />a. You must adhere to the CWCB Guidelines for Financial Assistance. A copy is <br />attached for your information. <br /> <br />b. A Feasibility Studv is required. The study must include a written discussion of the <br />alternatives the City has considered, and state why the selected alternative was chosen. <br />It must also include a description of the collateral the City will offer, written by the City's <br />attorney.
