.

.

The Glen Canyon Environmental Studies were begun under
Departmental direction in 1982 to study the effects of Glen Canyon Dam
operations on the Grand Canyon. All aspects of the dam's operations,
including water delivery and power production, are under review. The
studies consider the impacts of those operations on power revenues,
fisheries, including both trout and endangered species, on beach
erosion and sediment transport within Grand Canyon, and on the
recreation industry.

Dr. Marchant is a career government employee and a member of the
Senior Executive Service. He will continue to reside in Denver, where
supervision of GeES will be one of the duties within the scope of his
new position.

fU
