<br />~ <br />to <br />o <br />(J1 <br /> <br />OVERVIEW <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />This user handbook is a limited edition companion report toEstimatin~ <br />Economic Impacts of Salinity of the Colorado River, dated February 1988. <br /> <br />The computer program consists of two disks. The first disk 'contains the <br />program files, introductory information, the internal calculations, and <br />the screens that will be shown throughout this manual. The second disk <br />contains data files and the structure for additional data files; There <br />are four da~a files present on the.data disk. <br /> <br />. .' <br />The program is written in.TurboBasi'::, supported by MS DOS 3.2. The <br />existing data files are set up to conform with the information in the <br />study report., and are based on guidelines and salinity data .provided by <br />the Bureau pf Reclamation. Therefore, although the program has the <br />ability and the space in the data files to project damages, . data are <br />entered only for 1986. All .output screens and summary' tabular data are <br />supported by information fourid in the main report (Estimating Economic <br />Impacts of Sa~inityof'theColorado River). <br /> <br />COPYING THE. PROGRAM <br /> <br />The program disk is a ,system disk. If you want to make floppy disk <br />copies of it you must use the DISKCOPY command from your DOS system. The <br />*.* copy command will not. work except wh.en copying the program antos <br />hard disk. . <br /> <br />STARTING 1'Hll. PROGRAM. <br /> <br />The computer'programis self'-J)ooti.ng from the program diskona 'two- <br />floppy disk system. If' you have a hard disk you may wish to load the <br />program onto it by making a directory MD\FILENAME (possibly named CORIV <br />or SALTE), then executing' the CD\FILENAME (change directory) command and <br />copying the program disk (COpy A:*.* C: [or D:)). If you do not wish to <br />load the program onto a hard disk, and have a one-floppy disk system, <br />boot the computer, switch to Drive A [(C>A:). First load the.program <br />disk in A, and later place the data disk in A when indicated by the menu. <br />The program can also be called from the hard disk (if loaded on it) by, <br />at the C> prompt, typingCD\FILENAME and pressing RETURN. <br /> <br />SETTING THE PRINT FUNCTION AND RUNNING THE PROGRAM <br /> <br />The program is designed to work with several types of printers. The <br />print function can be s'et after the program disk is put in Drive A. <br />After inserting the program disk, to set the printer, type PRINT and <br />follow the instructions that appear. To run the program, enter GO at <br /> <br />1 <br />
