.

.

CONSENSUS SHEET

Bear Creek Basin Task Force

September 10,1987

Consensus was reached to use existing land use, population and employment
projections for the bear creek basin. It was decided that the apparent discrep-
ancies which DRCOC showed for the basin were not a problem. There is a
predominance of large lots in the basins which partially caused the apparent
discrepancies. It was agreed that basin urbanization would likely occur as de-
picted on the map which was enclosed in the September agenda.

The task force also agreed that the basin study will need to identify appropriate
ways to provide wastewater service to the dispersed urbanization centers. It
was agreed that DRCOG would generate 2010 population and employment

October 8, 1987

The task force decided that the final study should include recommendations about
the following areas: Aspen Park, Marshdale, Indian Hills, ldledale, and areas
in the South Turkey Creek subbasin. The final recommendations of the study
should include a recommendation that if the land use in these areas becomes more
intense than current uses, these areas should have centralized sewer systems.
The study should also include a recommendation that areas that develop contig-
uous to existing sewered areas should connect to the existing sewer lines,
wherever economically feasible. Amy Con klin will review the existing Jefferson
County Health Department's regulations on septic systems to determine if the
study should include a recommendation to support the regulations in the study
area.

The task force reviewed the population projection table in the agenda. The table
will be revised and included in next month's agenda.

Russell Clayshulte described the scope of the management study. He stated that
the existing task force could act for both the management study and the clean
lakes study.

Russell described the scope of work for the clean lakes study. Concern was
raised that more commitment for in-kind services was needed to assure that those
services could be provided. An identification of the in-kind monetary commit-
ments is also needed. Russell will work with the task force to get these com-
mitments by the next meeting.

Dennis Anderson, Colorado Department of Health, asked if the task force had
any objections to Bear Creek Reservoir being classified for recreation, class 1.
There were no objections stated. Projections for service areas based on the basin
forecasts.
