Advisory committees at DRCOG and the Board of <br /> <br />Directors will be briefed at appropriate milestones to review progress and <br /> <br />discuss issues, <br /> <br />The task force, advisory committees and Board of Directors <br /> <br />will distribute notices of their meetings to allow for any interested public <br /> <br />to attend and comment on the study. Also, toward the end of the project, <br /> <br />a newsletter will be distributed to thousands of interested parties in the <br /> <br />Denver metropolitan area. The main topic of the newsletter will be the <br /> <br />study, its purpose, a discussion of the issues, and discussion of the control <br /> <br />alternatives. <br /> <br />Part of the public involvement will be a survey conducted of the lake <br /> <br />userS to determine their perspective of the water quality problems, This <br /> <br />exercise will be useful in determining the impact on beneficial uses and also <br /> <br />to establish appropriate standards to protect the uses. <br /> <br />Several local interest groups are actively involved in enhancement of the <br /> <br />lake. These groups will be kept involved throughout the study to assure <br /> <br />that final study recommendations are implementable and consistent with the <br /> <br />desires of local entities with regard to desirable recreational uses, mainte- <br /> <br />nance of crucial wildlife habitat, and conformance with established plans and <br /> <br />policies. <br /> <br />5 <br /> <br />-, <br />
