<br />PUMPING PLANTS <br /> <br />45 <br /> <br />...... . I") <br />.l.~l.~ <br /> <br />On June 30, 1938 the general construction contracts for the <br />pumping plant buildings and appurtenant structures, including the <br />delivery pipe lines, sand traps, and forebays, had been completed <br />except at Hayfield. All major pumping equipment purchased by <br />the District had been delivered and the installation of the equip- <br />ment by District forces was in progress at all plants. <br /> <br />Intake and Gene <br />Erection of the main pumps and motors at these plants was com- <br />pleted by July 15, 1938, and work was in progress on the installation <br />of auxiliary apparatus, power cables, wiring, switchboards, main <br />transformers, and circuit breakers. In September this work was <br />sufficiently far advanced so that testing and preliminary operation <br />of all control circuits were commenced. On November 1, 1938 the <br />Z30-kv transmission line was energized from Boulder power plant <br />and the pumps at Intake plant were operated for short periods on <br />November 17th. During the remainder of 1939 circuit testing was <br />completed at Intake and the test crew transferred to Gene. Gene <br />plant was ready for operation January 25, 1939. <br /> <br />Iron M olmtain <br />The general contract on this plant had been completed in the <br />summer of 1937 and equipment installation started immediately <br />thereafter. By June 30, 1938 the main pumps and motors were <br />completely el'ected, and after that date a small crew continued with <br />the power and control wiring and the installation of the anxiliary <br />. _ _ _ _ _ ~ui~~e~t___ .:r~~s_\~o:~ ~~s_ c?JIlplet~d_~J1. I?<:c"lll~e! 1!j38, _ ____ __ _. <br /> <br />Eagle Mountain <br />On June 30, 1938 the pump casings had been placed, the pumps <br />assembled, and work was in progress on the concrete supports for <br />the main motors. Erection of the motors was completed in Septem- <br />ber 1938. Installation of auxiliary equipment, switchboards, control <br />and power cables, transformers, and circuit breakers was completed <br />in Febrnary 1939. <br /> <br />Hayfield <br /> <br />L. E. Dixon Company and Case Construction Company, the <br />general contractors for the Hayfield plant, completed their work <br />on July 21, 1938. Several months prior to that date the switch <br />
