Only a single adult roundtail chub was collected during 1994. This
specimen was caught by angling from a pool at RM 227.8 and was 315 mm
TL. The only other roundtail chubs noted during this study were 18
age-I specimens collected with a seine from a backwater just upstream
of the Yampa River. Other angler records provided by NPS reported
capture of two additional roundtail chubs near RM 231.

Temperature data were collected by placing continuously recording
thermographs in the Green River at the upstream (RM 259.8) and
downstream (RM 247) ends of Browns Park, and just upstream of the Yampa
River (RM 225.7). Thermographs were placed in the Green River
following high spring runoff in early June and were removed in
September.

VII. Recommendations:

The sampling program should continue.as it presently exists, but with
an increased emphasis on spring sampling in order to detect the
possibility of fish moving into the Green River during pre- and post
runoff periods. If collecting permits from applicable agencies allow,
it is further recommended that stomach samples from selected non-native
predaceous fishes be collected in order to document their food habits.

VIII. Project status: On track and ongoing.

IX. tY 94 Budget: tunds provided $37,000, expended $37,000.

X. Status of Data Submission: Sample and data analysis not yet complete,
so data have not been submitted.

Xl. Signed: Kevin R. Bestgen, December 8, 1994

3
