Water Supply, Reservoir Operation. and Hydrologic Data: <br />The 1981 Arkansas River Compact year and the winter storage <br />season for John Martin Reservoir began at 0001 hours November I, <br />1980 with 35,395 acre-feet in account storage but with zero acre-feet in <br />conservation storage. The account storage was apportioned 27,160 acre- <br />leet to the Storage Accounts pursuant to the April 24, 1980 Resolution <br />Concerning the Operation of John Martin Reservoir (hereinafter <br />relerred to as the 1980 Storage Resolution), and 8235 acre.leet to the <br />Permanent Recreation Pool. The Permanent Pool water was carried <br />over from last year when transmountain water was purchased for this <br />purpose and stored in John Martin Reservoir. Evaporation is charged <br />daily to the contents of the ACCOWlts and the Permanent Recreation <br />Pool. <br />During the winter storage season Colorado called {or 550 acre-feet <br />Irom its accounts, and applied the water to beneficial use. This <br />simulated the historic practice of calling for river flow under the <br />Compact. The Fort Lyon Winter Water (1568 AF) was delivered to John <br />Martin Reservoir on March 16, 1981 pursuant to the Pueblo Winter <br />Storage Program. At 2400 hours on April 1. 1981 35% 01 Ft. Lyon and <br />Amity Winter Water was translerred and distributed equitably pur- <br />suant to paragraph fII Dol the 1980 Storage Resolution. The balance 01 <br />the Fort Lyon. Winter Water was released lor exchange on May 31, <br />1981. This was the first time that an exchange was executed between <br />water users above John Martin Reservoir and those below the reser- <br />voir. The Amity Winter Water was transferred into Amity's Storage <br />Account on April 1. The transfer of conservation storage water into the <br />Storage Accounts began on April 7 at the prescribed rates pursuant to <br />the 19110 Storage Resolution. <br />When Winter Storage ended at 2400 hours on March 31, 1981, the <br />water in the reservoir was apportioned as follows (all values in AF): <br /> <br />Hrs. The <br />total inflow to conservation storage was 01,463 acre-feet dW'ing the <br />summer.
