Characterize resources through scientific study. <br />The Socio-economic Resources Program <br />There are many socio-economic resources associated with the Grand Canyon riverine <br />environment including recreation and camping beaches, electric power and water. In recreation, <br />the objectives of long-term monitoring and research will be to study recreational attitudes and <br />wilderness experiences, and safety issues relative to alternative dam operation strategies. <br />Camping beach changes will be determined by monitoring changes in sand bar areas and <br />elevations using remotely sensed data and cooperative programs with boating guides and their <br />associations. <br /> <br />Final Draft <br />
