They are <br />linked to alternative development and evaluation. These planning questions, <br />and the requirements of the NFMA regulations, established the scope of the <br />proposed Plan and its draft EIS. The planning questions analyzed in the EIS <br />and the Plan are: <br /> <br />PLANNING QUESTION 1: How well can Regional Direction be attained and how can <br />it best be accomplished to maintain or enhance local productive and enjoyable <br />hannony? <br /> <br />The issues and concerns related to this question are related to the level of <br />goods and services produced on the Forest. Included are need for additional <br />firewood supplies, dispersed and developed recreation opportunities, effects <br />of mineral development and timber harvest, and the effects of land use allo- <br />cation on the Forest on local community. <br /> <br />PLANNING QUESTION 2: How will Forest resources be protected from unacceptable <br />damage? <br /> <br />3 <br />
