<br />(9) Tne allowance of any temporary land uses would be detrimental to and <br />noncompatible with tne protection of recreational river values. <br /> <br />(10) A rignt-of-way reservstion would not provide tne segregstion required <br />and tnerefore would not be a suitable alternative. <br /> <br />(11) A five year witndrawal period is requested to allow ample time for the <br />enactment of legislation to designate tnis portion of tne C~lorado River <br />corridor as a scenic river under tne Wild and Scenic Rivers Act. <br /> <br />(12) Tne requested witndrawal is for tne protection of tne Colorado River <br />corridor and no alternative sites are available. <br /> <br />(13) Tne withdrawal is for the protection of recreation and scenic values <br />witnin tne river corridor, nowever the storage, use, or control of water on <br />any of the proposed witndrawn land will be in accordance witn existing, valid <br />water rights and state laws pertaining to tne appropriation, use, control and <br />distribution of water. <br /> <br />(14) Records relating to tnis application may be examined at the Bureau of <br />Land Management, Grand Junction Resource Area Office, 764 Horizon Drive, Grand <br />Junction, Colorado 81506. <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />
