..,

be identified in the WS database in the near future.

AWEL7

A WEL 7, which is the successor to A WELS, is based upon a review of permits and
decrees for wells in the valley fill and surficial aquifers between Pueblo and the Stateline.
Since September of 1995, work on this database has focused on the assignment of
identification numbers and cross-checking with the WS4 database.

.
Currently, there are 2,390 wells in A WEL 7. All but 11 of those wells have been
assigned an identification number. Of the 2,390 wells, 2,149 are decreed and permitted, 83
are decreed but not permitted and 158 are permitted but not decreed.

Final revisions to A WEL 7 will be accomplished in early March 1996 after the release
ofWS5.

MEAS 104

The Measurement database, currently defined as MEAS~ 104, has been subject to
quality control review, along with the assignment of well identification numbers. That
assignment is complete and progress proceeds in adding electric account numbers to the
database.

USE

Submittal of 1995 water use data was required by January 31, 1996, under the 1994
Measurement Rules. As of February 20, data has been received from approximately 1,870
wells. This includes data from water user associations (AGUA, CWPDA, LA WMA, and
the Fort Lyon Well Users) and individuals. In order to obtain use data from non-association
member wells, 285 letters have been sent to owners of wells requesting 1995 use data.

ASSOCIATION

The Association database will most likely be discarded in 1996. A Rule 13 database
is being developed (see Planning section below) to handle this information.

pllInning

The 1996 Use Rules will create a significant data processing demand to monitor water
use data on a monthly basis. Infonnation concerning irrigation methods, identification of
supplemental and sole source wells, etc., is required to detennine presumptive depletions for

7
