He urged those members of the Board who had not filled Qut their questionnaires <br />to do so immediately I and return it to the Office. Beise stated the draft of the Bill which <br />was reviewed by the Directors was not the final Bill. and it is not expected the final <br />version will be ready until middle or late December. Young said the critical time will <br />be wben the Bill is in its final form and ready for submission to l!le State Legislature. <br />Nichols commented that when the final draft is ready the Board must analyze it, and <br />make our recommendations to the members of the Legislature. Milenski again, urged <br />every member of the Board to review the material, in order that water users I feelings <br />might be made a part of the final Legislation. Presiden.t Nichols called for a vote on the <br />motion, and it was unanimously carried. <br /> <br />RIVER ADM1NISTRAT10N & EDUCATION: <br /> <br />Chairman Wagner reported the General Manager is working with representatives from <br />U. 'l. G. S. in the preparation of Broc!lure #7, w!>ic!l will cover the U. S. G. S. Selby Young, and Attorney Charles Matheson <br />attended a meetihg of the Fryingpat1-Arkansas Project Commission in Denver on October <br />24, to review objections registered by the Colorado River Water Conservation District <br />relative to the utilization of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project by the Higllline Canal Com- <br />pany. The Colorado. River Water Conservation District feel that such use would enable <br />the 'Highline to divert more water than they historically have, and this would be injurious <br />to tp.e Colorado River Basin. Beise quoted several sections oi the Operating Principles, <br />and. feels that matter can be mutually resolved. <br /> <br />ii <br /> <br />Lamar Meeting: President Nichols reported that Project Manager Ogilvie and General <br />Manager Thomson will meet Officially with Lamar City Officials in Lamar on November <br />26 to review preliminary estimates of costs of water to the citizens of that Community <br />should they elect to come in the District. <br /> <br />, <br />;1 <br /> <br />Executive Committee of the Colorado Water Congress: President Nichols stated he and <br />Thomson attended a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Colorado Water Congress <br />in Denver, on November 13, at which time a number of critical water matters were dis- <br />cussed. <br /> <br />Co~orado Water Conservation Board: Nichols and Thomson attended a regular meeting <br />of tllis Board !leld in Denver, Wednesday, November 13, 1968. <br /> <br />FUTURE OFFICIAL MEET1NGS: <br /> <br />Pre.sident Nichols said the Annual Meeting of the Colorado River Water Users Asso- <br />ciation will be held December 11 - 13 in Las Vegas, and asked the Board members for <br />their observations regarding attendance at this water meeting, in accordance with the <br />TI"~vel Policy.
